Ryan excels at translating underwriting and operational needs into technical specifications, system enhancements and structured test cases. He is proficient in reviewing, debugging and validating SQL, ColdFusion, JavaScript and HTML/CSS code within enterprise insurance environments.
He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Insurance Data Analytics (AIDA) professional designations and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance. Combining strong insurance-domain expertise with hands-on system analysis, Ryan focuses on enhancing accuracy, processing efficiency, and data integrity while modernizing legacy applications and ensuring alignment with regulatory and business standards.
He develops and maintains insurance processing applications, tailoring workflows and system behavior through SQL-driven logic and iterative development. Ryan conducts quality assurance reviews, drafts test cases and validates system changes to support underwriting, policy issuance, billing and reporting functions.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders, Ryan defines functional requirements, resolves technical issues and ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines and state regulations. He provides technical validation and support for user environments, assisting with integrations, data troubleshooting and operational issue resolution.
Prior to joining Modotech, Ryan worked as a commercial underwriter, handling catastrophe modeling, risk evaluation, pricing, compliance review and new-hire training.
